We have Something For Everyone

Learning and applying God’s Word is the key to a personal relationship with Christ. That is why Sunday School (Bible Study) plays such a vital role in spiritual growth and development. Sunday morning Bible study groups provide time together with other believers where questions can be asked, discussion can occur and fellowship can take place.

There is a class for everyone from
nursery to senior adults.
Classes start each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.
For help finding a Bible Study class simply find an usher and ask them about our Bible Studies.

They will show you the way.

First Baptist Church takes seriously the charge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when He said,“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, NIV.)  We believe this command is as binding upon the church today as it was some 2,000 years ago for those disciples.

We endeavor to live out the Acts 1:8 challenge in our mission plans and endeavors.  Just as Jesus commanded His followers to progressively witness for Him in ever broadening circles, we encourage our members to always be looking for ways to extend their influence and witness for Christ in this world.

We offer opportunities for our people to participate in mission projects and trips that affect our Jerusalem (Washington Parish), Judea (Louisiana), Samaria (North America), and the ends of the earth (International).

Opportunities for mission involvement are abundant throughout the year.  These opportunities are advertised through our weekly worship bulletin and The Bridge, our monthly newsletter.

 Intercessory Prayer Ministry

FBC provides an Intercessory Prayer Ministry where faithful pray-ers come to the Intercessory Prayer Room once each week (individually or in small groups) to pray for specific prayer requests. You can be a part of this ministry in two ways:

1. You can submit personal requests for prayer with an email (fbcfranklinton.prayer@gmail.com), with a phone call (985-839-3337), or with a prayer request card. Drop a card in the box on the desk just outside the prayer room.

2. You can join us in praying. The Intercessory Prayer Room (the pastor’s old study – behind the Sanctuary) is available almost 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you are interested in this ministry of praying for others, contact the church office.

We believe in the power of prayer. We believe God hears the prayers we pray for others. We encourage you to participate in the Intercessory Prayer Ministry.

“My house will be called a house of prayer.” – Matthew 21:13

FBC Kids

Our Preschool and Children’s Ministries are offered for children ages 3 through 6th grade. This includes Sunday School classes, Wednesday night activities, and other special activities. We train children to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through activities that are fun, educational, and age appropriate in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. We consider it a privilege to work with each child in guiding them towards the time when they will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Worship

First Baptist Church has had a history of a powerful music ministry marked by excellence and enthusiasm.

As First Baptist journeys into the future, we recognize the changing culture of music and worship.  We have intentionally chosen a music path to utilize the best of both traditional worship songs and hymns and the best of contemporary music.  We are a multi-generational church with a worship style that is intended to be multi-generational.

Our hope is to offer something for everyone.

Do you  ever find yourself thinking………..

* It’s up to me to make others happy

* I’m fine on my own

* No one knows how I fell

 * I regret what I’ve done in the past

* I wish I didn’t act that way

* I fear the future

* If I act right, I’ll be right

* Compared to others my problems are small

* I just need to pray harder and read my Bible more….then I’ll get better

* I HAVE forgiven; I just can’t let go

* I’m not like THOSE people

* Time heals all wounds

God’s Word Says:

    “You can’t heal a wound by saying it’s not there.”  Jeremiah 6:14, TLB
